Music On The Hill Summer Chorus Performs Bach In Wilton

WILTON, Conn. -- The Music on the Hill Summer Chorus will perform the music of J.S. Bach at 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton.

The concert will feature three joyful and spirited Bach cantatas, performed by the 60-voice chorus with soloists and chamber orchestra, as well as the final movement of the Mass in B-minor (Dona Nobis Pacem).

Tickets are $20 purchased in advance at www.musiconthehillCT.org or $25 at the door. Students are admitted free.

A reception follows the concert.

Music on the Hill also will offer a series of Summer Sings every Tuesday evening in August beginning Aug. 4. Each week will feature a different choral classic with a different conductor. All singers are welcome, including high school students and adults who have been too long away from singing.

No advance registration is required, and scores will be provided; just show up and sing.

Summer Sings are from 7-9 p.m. and take place at the Wilton Episcopal and Presbyterian Church Complex, 48 New Canaan Road.

Music on the Hill is an independent, nonprofit  organization dedicated to high-quality music education and performance for all ages. It offers workshops and four choral and handbell ensembles that perform six to eight concerts each year.
