Westy Self Storage Hosts Kickoff Event For Wilton Relay For Life

WILTON, Conn. --Westy Self Storage in Wilton will host the kickoff event for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life on Thursday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m.

The grand lobby of Westy Self Storage in Wilton will serve as a forum for the keynote speaker, Honorary Chair Gene Fehrer. Residents can come to find out how to get involved in the relay, a fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.

"We are so grateful to Westy Self Storage for again hosting our kickoff event. They are dedicated community partners,” said Sara Augenbraun, chairperson of the 2014 Relay For Life. “It is refreshing to know that our evening will run smoothly and take place in a picturesque setting. It will be a great start for the relay.”

Prizes will be awarded, and light refreshments will be served at the kickoff event.

“We are proud to host the kickoff again this year,” said Joe Schweyer, district director of Westy Self Storage, Wilton location. “We welcome the pportunity to assist our community and programs representing such a deserving cause.”

The Relay For Life event will be held at Wilton High School on May 31. Anyone interested in joining the planning committee, becoming a team captain, volunteering, or just finding out more about Relay For Life is encouraged to attend the kickoff event.

Relay teams representing families, clubs, religious organizations, neighborhoods and corporations will join the race to beat cancer by celebrating survivorship and taking turns walking around the track. Teams are encouraged to enjoy the great music, food and camaraderie of the event.
