The wicked good time begins at 6:30pm. Guests, who are encouraged – but not required – to wear costumes or masks, will experience a night of music, dancing and otherworldly entertainment. Psychics, palm and tarot card readers, mentalists and numerologists will be tucked into the shadows of the historic landmark. Illusionists will wander the event to perform magic tricks and treat partygoers to sleight-of- hand.

The 2017 event will feature an all-new Escape Room, an adventure game in which guests will follow clues and solve puzzles to escape a room before the clock runs out.

“I’m forbidden to reveal everything that will happen,” said Belinda Lasky, the new Executive Director of Lounsbury House, “but it wouldn’t be A Night of Wonder and Intrigue without a few surprises.”

The annual fundraiser supports dozens of community events hosted by Lounsbury House, as well as the care and restoration of the historic building. Built in 1896 at the request of Gov. Phineas B. Lounsbury, the house served as the former governor’s family home. The building was opened to the public in 1954 and named a National Historic Site in 1975. Lounsbury House operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, relying entirely on financial support from individuals, corporations and foundations to remain open.

“Lounsbury House belongs to Ridgefield,” said Lasky. “It captures the history, beauty, and community spirit that is special to this town. The first time I saw the house, I was struck by its Classical architecture. Then I walked inside and fell in love with the elegant, grand staircase. I knew immediately that I wanted to help preserve it for future generations to enjoy. This fundraiser is a chance for Ridgefielders to contribute to that future.”

Lounsbury House is located in downtown Ridgefield at 316 Main Street. Tickets to A Night of Wonder and Intrigue are $100 per person and may be purchased at www.LounsburyHouse.org.
