The clean representation now gives people a chance to pick and choose where they want to navigate on their computers without having to scroll too far down the homepage – almost everything is right in the line of sight, or one click away.

“We looked carefully at the functionality of the site and worked hard to improve the user experience," library webmaster Thomas Kozak said in a statement. "Now at a quick glance you can see library art exhibitions news, the book of the month, newsletters, all at your fingertips. At the same time, we’re still a library, so the site contains the full power of a great reference and resource tool.”

The library launched its first website in 1997 which was updated in 1999. The site was then reorganized and redesigned around the time of the library’s expansion in 2006. Today, the website reflects the way in which consumers prefer their online viewing. The site has also been optimized for viewing on personal devices such as smart phones and tablets.
