Wilton Ranks Among Safest Towns In America By Safewise

WILTON, Conn. -- Wilton has been named the 13th safest town in America by the security website Safewise.com.

Safewise compiled crime statistics from the FBI and conducted its own research on public safety public health, and educational offerings to determine its rankings.

Wilton reported .05 violent crimes per 1,000 residents and only 3.24 property crimes per 1,000 people, according to Safewise.com.

Also making the list from Fairfield County are Ridgefield at No. 6 and Weston at No. 15.

The No. 6 ranking comes just weeks after NeighborhoodScout rated Ridgefield the safest community in the country.

Lewisboro, N.Y., which shares a border with Ridgefield, was the top-ranked town in America.
