WILTON, Conn. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Wilton this week:

  • The Wilton Police Department reported that another suspicious white panel van was spotted in the parking lot Miller-Driscoll School. Suspicious vans have been spotted near schools around the county for about a month.
  • Wilton High School was named among the top public high schools in Connecticut and was one of only 500 schools nationwide to receive a gold medal in the annual U.S. News & World Report study.
  • Sean Obi, a former star at Greens Farms Academy in Westport and a resident of Greenwich, will transfer to play basketball at Duke University.
  • Stamford police arrested and charged a local woman Yolanda McDowell, 45, with second-degree manslaughter and felony leaving the scene of an accident after a fatal hit-and-run accident of 70-year-old pedestrian Margarita Gonzalez on Woodland Avenue.
