WILTON, Conn. -- A former Wilton preschool paraprofessional convicted of possession of child pornography is due to be released from prison this month after serving two years, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

Eric Von Kohorn was arrested in 2014 and originally charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and promoting a minor in an obscene performance. He pleaded guilty a year ago to second-degree possession of child pornography. He was sentenced to six years in prison, suspended after two years in the plea deal.

After serving his sentence at the Enfield Correctional Center and later the Brooklyn Correctional Center, Von Kohorn is due to be released from prison on Friday, Oct. 20, the Wilton Bulletin reported. He will have to register as a sex offender, will serve 10 years probation, and will need to receive authorization to access the Internet once he is released, according to the Wilton Bulletin.

Two families are suing the town of Wilton and the Wilton Board of Education, alleging that Von Kohorn sexually abused their children while he was a paraprofessional at Miller-Driscoll School. Those lawsuits are still pending.

Von Kohorn was hired by the district in 2007 after undergoing a background check. He was placed on administrative leave in June 2014 after school officials learned of the investigation, and resigned a few days later.
