Storm Leaves 453 Wilton CL&P Customers Powerless

WILTON, Conn. – More than 400 Connecticut Light and Power customers still are in the dark a day after winds and heavy rains came to Wilton and the rest of Fairfield County.

As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, the utility is reporting 453 customers are out of power, representing 6 percent of the utility’s Wilton customers. At its peak Tuesday, the bad weather had knocked out power to more than 1,500 customers.

Several roads are closed due to downed trees or power lines, Wilton police reported Wednesday, including Cannon Road and Hurlbutt Street, Ridgefield Road at Hillside Cemetery, Kensett Drive at Lennon Lane and Deforest Road at the Wilton/New Canaan border. Police said Washington Post Drive has low wires.
