The complaint accuses McDonald's of using a starch filler, instead of what it claims in its ad, that the sticks are "100 percent real and melty mozzarella cheese," said the Huffington Post.
A check of McDonald's website, list modified food starch as one of the ingredients in the mozzarella sticks, but it doesn't say if it's in the cheese or the coating; lead plaintiff Chris Howe claims it's in the cheese portion. A McDonald's spokesperson told Law360 that the company refutes the claim, added the Huffington Post.
