Wilton Center Gas Station is Going, Going, Gone

WILTON, Conn. – Standard Petroleum of Connecticut fired up its bulldozers one week after winning Planning and Zoning Commission approval for a new gas station-convenience store at 287-289 Danbury Road.

By mid-day Tuesday, the former Citgo station had been reduced to about half its original size.

Commission approval allows Standard Petroleum to raze the garage and in its place install new gas pumps under a canopy. The Three Star Convenience Store will also undergo extensive renovation including changing the building's entrance from the Danbury Road side to now face the new pumps.

As part of the board's OK, outdoor construction can take place only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
