Wilton Fire Department Calls for Sept. 11 to 18

WILTON, Conn. – The following are excerpts from the Wilton Fire Department Log for the period Sept. 11-18:

Sept. 11 

2:30 a.m.: Seir Hill Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

11:23 a.m.: Horseshoe Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

11:43 a.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

2:24 p.m.: Belden Hill Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

5:16 p.m.: Village Court, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

7:31 p.m.: Rock House Road, propane leak. Firefighters investigated and metered the area; source of propane was determined to be due to a gas grill being left in the on position.

Sept. 12

5:24 a.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

10:37 a.m.: Old Ridgefield Road, carbon monoxide incident. Firefighters metered and investigated. Reading of 400 parts per million was received. Area was secured and source of propone or carbon monoxide determined to be a malfunctioning stove. Propane supply to unit was shut off, and building ventilated. Occupants advised to have stove serviced.

3:02 p.m.: Old Farm Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

Sept. 13

9:43 a.m.: Saddle Ridge Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

12:40 p.m.: Danbury Road, vehicle fire. Vehicle was located in Georgetown, upon arrival Georgetown Fire was on scene, Wilton stood by to provide assistance.

6:29 p.m.: Seir Hill Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

Sept. 14

7:05 a.m.: River Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

8:04 p.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

4:24 p.m.: Whipple Road, vehicle fire. Upon arrival firefighters found a fire in the passenger compartment. Fire was extinguished. Cause of the fire in under investigation.

Sept. 15

12:14 p.m.: River Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

7:55 p.m.: Old Boston Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

9:37 p.m.: Blue Ridge Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

9:42 p.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

Sept. 16

7:47 a.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

9:19 a.m.: Dudley Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

12:54 p.m.: Danbury Road, brush fire. Upon arrival, FD personnel found a two-foot-square area of mulch that had burned. On-site maintenance personnel had extinguished fire prior to arrival of FD units. Firefighters overhauled area and checked for extension.

1:45 p.m.: River Road, welfare check. Firefighters checked on the wellbeing of a resident.

Sept. 17

5:01 a.m.: Wilton Hills, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

12:27 p.m.: Danbury Road, fire alarm. Accidental activation of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

1:37 p.m.: Seeley Road, motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival FD personnel found a two-car accident. FD personnel assisted with treating an injured party. Firefighters also contained and cleaned up a fluid spill.

1:56 p.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

5:01 p.m.: West Meadow Road, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

10:13 p.m.: Belden Hill Road, good intent. Report of a vehicle on fire, upon investigation FD personnel determined it to be a problem with the vehicles exhaust system. Operator advised to have vehicle serviced.

10:21 p.m.: Danbury Road, lock in. Resident was unable to exit their property do to a malfunctioning driveway gate. Firefighters were able to remove the gate, and allow the resident to exit.

Sept. 18

8:14 a.m.: Thayer Pond Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

9:15 a.m.: Danbury Road, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.

3:26 p.m.: Dirksen Drive, fire alarm. Apparent malfunction of the alarm system; no fire or hazards present.

11:50 p.m.: Village Court, medical emergency. Firefighters provided patient care and assisted EMS and paramedic.
