WILTON, Conn. - Florence “Flo” Iffland Tallmadge, 98, a longtime resident of Wilton, died Saturday, May 16, after a brief illness.
Tallmadge worked as a waitress at the original Orem’s Diner for several years.
She later worked at the Wilton Department Store, eventually purchasing it from the Barry family. The store was renamed Tallmadge’s, and she worked there until the business closed in 2002.
Survivors include one son, Lyle (Heidi) Tallmadge Jr.; one daughter, Linda (Jack) Mitchell; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Lyle Tallmadge Sr., preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be private.
