WILTON, Conn. - Sister Mary Ruth Phillips, SSND, of Wilton died Saturday, Dec. 28. She was 82.
Sr. Phillips was born in Medford, Mass.; daughter of Clarke and Ruth (Flynn) Phillips. She was a certified teacher for over 42 years. She taught in various Catholic schools in Washington, DC, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Girls Catholic High, Malden, Mass., prior to retiring in 2000.
Sr. Phillips is survived by her brother, Clarke (Roberta) Phillip of Marshfield, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Friday, Jan. 3 from 2 to 6 p.m. Christian Wake Service will be at 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. in the SSND Villa Chapel, Wilton with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bethel.
Memorials may be made to SSND Mission Advancement Fund, Wilton.
