The victim went to Darien Police headquarters to report the violation of a protective order. She told police that she had been away, and her neighbor had been watching her home in the Noroton Heights neighborhood of Darien and caring for her dog.
When the victim returned, her neighbor informed her that Sean Mobley, 45, of 21 Neptune Ave., Norwalk, had been in and out of her apartment. The victim told officers there was a standing criminal protective order against Mobley and that he did not have permission to be in her home.
The neighbor said that he had been in the home caring for the dog, when a man who identified himself as Sean used a key to enter through the front door, police said.
The man, later identified as Mobley, said he was there "out of concern for the victim and her daughter," police said.
When the neighbor told Mobley that they weren’t home, Mobley said several times not to tell the victim that he had been at the home, police said. Mobley then departed the home.
Officers confirmed the protective order and contacted the Norwalk Police, who responded to Mobley’s home.
Darien officers went to the front door and reported seeing Mobley through a front window before they rang the doorbell, police said.
When officers rang the doorbell, they saw Mobley get up and run to the rear of the residence, police said.
An elderly woman answered the door, identified herself as Mobley’s mother and said she was unaware of his whereabouts, police said.
While Darien officers were speaking with the woman, Norwalk officers stationed at the rear of the residence took Mobley into custody as he came out the back door, police said.
Mobley admitted that he had been inside the victim’s home while she was away and that he knew there was a protective order, police said.
He was transported to Darien police headquarters and processed on charges of second-degree burglary and violating a protective order. He was held on $50,000 bond for an appearance in Stamford Superour Court on Monday.
