Stamford Charges Dismissed Against Greenwich Woman

Update: STAMFORD, Conn. — The charges in this case were dismissed in November 2014, according to documents from state Superior Court in Stamford.

original story: STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Greenwich woman is facing charges after she left her child inside a locked vehicle while she was at the playground at Scalzi Park in Stamford on Thursday afternoon, police said.

Danielle Neuman, 36, was charged with risk of injury to a child and leaving a child unsupervised.

Police said they were called at about 2:30 p.m. after a pair of witnesses saw the woman leave a child in her locked GMC SUV.

The woman went back a number of times to check on the child, police said. The witnesses reported they heard the woman say she didn't want to wake the child, police said.

It was unclear whether the woman was with another child at the playground, said Stamford police Sgt. Kelly Connelly.

When officers arrived, the woman was taking her child out of the car, police said. The child appeared to be sweaty, police said.

EMS was called to the scene, but the child was fine, Connelly said.
