RIDGEFIELD, Conn --The Wilton U-10 Golden Girls won their second consecutive game with a convincing 4-1 win over Ridgefield.
Haley Brine scored in the 13th minutes, assisted by Amanda Heffernan, for Wiltons first goal. In the 18th minute, Wilton struck again with Emma Cassell netting the first of her two goals with an assist from Gabriella Nisco.
Ridgefield scored on a fortunate bounce for its only goal in the first half. Crisp passing by Miranda OHerron, and Sofia Scarfi led to the Golden Girls third goal of the first half with a powerful shot by Cassel for her second goal of the afternoon giving Wilton Gold a comfortable 3-1 lead into halftime. Macy Lebeau scored Wiltons final goal.
Bianca Reuter, Lizzy Adamsen and Sophie Peterson and Kate Quinlan also played well for Wilton. About the only thing that stopped the Wilton attack were angry yellow jackets, as one player on each team received bee stings. Wilton (2-2) meets Wilton White in its next game.
