Wilton Wahoo Swimmers Head To Regional Championships

WILTON, Conn. -- Fourteen Wilton Wahoo swimmers headed out-of-state this month to compete in regional championship swim meets.

Five of the swimmers went to the 2016 Speedo Sectionals Long Course, held March 31 to April 3, in Buffalo, N.Y., seeking out Olympic trial cut times.

The group included: Hugo Sykes of Weston; Emma Holmquist of Wilton; Jake Kealy of Wilton; Robby Giller of Wilton; and KyLee Perry of Norwalk, who holds two Olympic trials cuts in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle.

The group was accompanied by Wahoos Head Coach Randy Erlenbach.

Another group of swimmers competed in the 2016 NASA Showcase Classic, held March 30 to April 2, in Clearwater, FL.

Ths swimmers included: Morgan Dill, Katie Stevenson and Ellen Holmquist of Wilton; Brenna Mclaughlin of Trumbull; Leila Hastings of Wilton; Stephine Bishop of Ridgefield; Bella Gary of Weston; Katya Taylor-Yeremeeva of Redding; and Emma Babashak of Wilton.

They were accompanied by Wahoo Coach Matt Hall.
