Algae Bloom Threatens Wildlife, Pets In Easthampton Pond Officials in Hampshire County are telling residents to avoid the Rubber Thread Pond in Easthampton after a toxic algae bloom has taken over the water.  Easthampton leaders posted the warning on the city's Facebook page after tests showed possible signs of the toxic algae cyanobacteria.  The Massachusetts Department of Public Health will continue to conduct tests until the bloom has gone. $100,000 Lottery Ticket Sold In Saugus It's been a lucky week for one Bay Stater when they won $100,000 playing the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The winner claimed the ticket on Tuesday, May 28, in the "$100,000 Power Shot," a $2 scratch-off game.  Related: Lowell Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Jackpot The winner's name was not released.  They bought the ticket at the Alltown convenience store at 1123 Broadway. E-Scooter Battery Explosion Blamed For Fire That Injured 5 In Chelsea Fire investigators believe a fire that hurt five people over the weekend in Chelsea was caused when an electric scooter's lithium-ion battery exploded while it was charging.  Firefighters were called to 32 Carmel Street just after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, to reports of a fire on the first floor of a three-story building.
