Gunman Arrested After Firing Shots In Phillipsburg: Prosecutor A man was arrested and charged after shots were fired in Phillipsburg on Thursday, May 23, authorities said. At 8:35 p.m., officers in Phillipsburg responded to Stockton Street and Mercer Street and confirmed shots were fired, Acting Warren County Prosecutor Anthony Picione said. Khalil Thomas was identified as the suspect and charged with multiple weapons offenses, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and refusing to allow law enforcement to fingerprint him, Picione said.

The 48-year-old Morris County magician was arrested and charged on Wednesday, May 15, with possession of child pornography, authorities said. Acting on a tip, a search of Morley's computer turned up child sexual abuse materials, Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll, Morris County Chief of Detectives Robert McNally, and Butler Police Chief Scott Ricker said. Man Shot In Newark, Police Say A man was shot in Newark on the evening of Monday, May 27, authorities said. At 8:09 p.m., police responded to McCarter Highway and Clay Street and found an adult man who had been shot, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said.  The victim was transported to University Hospital and is in stable condition, Fragé said. The shooting remains under investigation.
