Pilot Killed In Small Plane Crash ID'd As Alexandria Resident, 66 A 66-year-old pilot was killed in a small plane crash in Culpeper County on Friday, May 17, authorities confirmed. The private aircraft went down on the 13000 block of Spillman Road in Culpeper County just before 2:45 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The pilot was identified as Grover McCall Jr., of Alexandria. The FAA and NTSB were notified. The incident remains under investigation.

The Harley Davidson operator was heading east on County Route 650 when they lost control, ran off the roadway and struck a tree around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. It happened in Montague Township at milepost 5, Lebron said. The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.  The crash remains under investigation.

The esteemed team of jets, comprised of 138 world-class US Sailors and Marines, will be in town for US Naval Academy Commissioning Week, closing the Severn River twice. Practice is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. The show will be Wednesday, May 22 beginning at 2 p.m. The flight path will be over the Annapolis Maritime Museum and over the US Naval Academy.
